Disable or Uninstall that plugin and download the Flash Player Plugin and install it manually. Just for info, anyone using Firefox the getPlus plugin will not allow Firefox to install Flash Player 10.0.45 either. Sorry, but I can't remember that.) Anyway, after you destroy the NOS file from your directory, restart your computer and go into IE again to see if it's still there.Īfter deleting the add-on and the getPlus.exe file, I was able to go to the Flash website at Adobe and the Flash Player 10.0.45 was installed. (Also, I think there was a file in the Program Files > Macromed > Flash location also. You will need to disable and/or delete that getPlus.exe v.1.6.3 because it's corrupted, then manually go to the NOS directory and delete it.

Anyway, as long as that directory and file was there, I couldn't get IE to allow Adobe to install the program. I think it might have been hidden, but can't remember that. When I couldn't get IE to install the two above items, it listed getPlus.exe (I think that's the right name), as being in a directory called Program Files > NOS. Not sure if yours will be the same as mine, but scroll down until you come to the Adobe Systems Incorporated (not for Adobe Reader, below that) and you should see Shockwave Flash Object and below that Shockwave Active X Control.

But it might not show Shockwave or Active X, so you will need to click (on the left column about half-way down) on the Show: "all add-ons". Open IE - click on - Tools then click on - Manage Add-Ons - which opens the Manage Add-Ons menu. I couldn't get the Adobe Flash Player 10.045 to install using IE.

I use Firefox as my primary browser, but still on occasion use IE. I understand that you might have already received the correct reply to your IE issue, but I did have the same problem and thought I could share what I had to do to fix my similar issue. I sincerely apologize for the confusing emails, but I did reply to the thread with my possible solution:īTW, I too have Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit
